OCS' UK, Ireland & Middle-East (UKIME) Facilities Management (FM) business provides total FM solutions throughout the UK to a diverse customer base and employs 26,000 people. This provides an annual Revenue of approximately £350m with a targeted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of 5%. We have divided the region by 5 key sectors of which Destination & Venues accounts for approximately £55m of combined revenue.

The Business Analyst (BA) will be part of a small, focused & select team that is responsible for all commercial and operational finance matters within the Destination & Venues (D&V) sector of OCS.

You will be responsible for the production of timely and accurate sector based monthly management reports & accounts and all necessary regional reports for a part of the sector along with financial modelling for re-bids and working closely with the management team, to aid the understanding of the financial position of the sector’s variances and trends to ensure suitable action is taken where necessary. This will contribute to the strategic direction and development of the sectors including Business Development, HSQE, and the delivery of the overall business plan.

The D&V sector Finance team is also supported by UKIME Shared Services & the Central finance team who provide transactional, financial accounting and FP&A support to the individual Sectors.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Sector’s Senior Management team, to aid the understanding of the financial position of part of the Sector’s variances and trends to ensure suitable action is taken where necessary
  • The production of timely and accurate Sector based monthly Management Reports and Accounts and all necessary Regional reports for part of the Sector as well as financial modelling for re-bids
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and variance analysis to provide a clear understanding of the drivers of growth to inform and develop both short term performance and the strategic direction of the Sector
  • Supporting the Commercial Finance Director (CFD) & Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) in driving commercial decisions affecting the Sector, including specific cost management initiatives and procurement reviews
  • Providing assistance with the accounting and financial management of all contract mobilisations and demobilisations across the Sector
  • Working with Operational teams to improve working capital performance, with particular reference to debt, waste and stock management and attendance on Debt Calls to influence the actions needed to successfully collect debt on time and in full
  • Reporting to the SFBP and supporting where necessary at Sector & UKIME meetings
  • Preparing all budgets, forecasts and variance reports for part of the Sector ensuring that both Regional and Group deadlines are adhered to
  • Adopting rigorous financial control of the Sector, including accuracy of management accounts, dealing with internal and external audit issues and Sector compliance with Group and Regional Policy and Procedures
  • Working closely with CFD & SFBP in the broader development of class leading efficiency and finance support to the Sector, Regional and Group Boards
  • Overseeing Purchase Order (PO) compliance and ensuring that all costs are represented accurately through the monthly management accounts

Experience required:


  • Good standard of education
  • Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Excellent MS Office skills with SAP experience would be an advantage

  • Strong experience of preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Management Accounts
  • Experience of budgeting and forecasting
  • Working experience of partnering with non-finance managers
  • Accounting experience within the Facilities Management industry
  • Experience of Financial Modelling and working on bids and tenders an advantage
  • Commercial acumen, with an ability to interpret numbers and communicate key issues in a concise and clear manner
  • Excellent organisation and presentation skills
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail, but commercially focused
  • Excellent communications skills and customer service orientation
  • Engaging client facing capabilities in order to build and develop relationships
  • Ability to manage pressure and meet multiple deadlines
