This is a great time to join our Business & Industry team. Due to an increase in sales, retention and ongoing growth plans for the division, we are looking to offer an opportunity to a Business Development Executive, to start an exciting career in strategic selling, learning from the team and developing the commercial skills required to lead complex high-value tenders. This will lead to further opportunity to move onto other business development functions for strategic and high value propositions, including Sales, Bidding or Solution Development.

You will be given responsibility for the deal processes for operational rebids, including some new business opportunities in support of operations.

You will also have the chance to lead the pipeline management, solution development and bid process, managing multiple bid opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with Operational Leadership teams to ensure the bid process is communicated and governed
  • Ensuring all rebid opportunities are compliant with internal governance processes
  • Compiling all bid response documentation, using standard templates where possible and client bespoke specification
  • Using internal cost models to complete priced responses
  • Engaging with the Commercial and Legal teams for any non-OCS standard terms and conditions
  • Ensuring all specifications, commercial and legal tender documentation is completed to operational go live/contract extension
  • Using the Salesforce and Business Development applications in completing and storing tender documentation
  • Achieving an agreed targeted win rate
  • Achieving the in-year renewal sales target, to be determined in advance of the financial year
  • Engaging with the wider Business Development, Bid & Solutions team to ensure an awareness of the relevant collateral and commercial details
  • Ensuring all Salesforce data is maintained, with stages, dates and values
  • Positively developing internal relationships across the Business Development and Operations teams as well as other functions including Finance and HR
  • Actively networking with BIFM on behalf of the Business and Industry sector and ensure new ideas and opportunities are cascaded throughout the sector

Experience required:

Education/Qualifications

  • Ideally, Degree or Apprentice level
  • Good standard of education
  • Strong IT Skills (Microsoft packages)

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Experience of working in a sales function within the service or facilities management industry
  • Passion for sales
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects at any time
  • Ability to communicate both internally to the business and externally to clients
  • Have a professional approach
  • Able to develop relationships and is a good listener
