As the Account Director, you will have responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the commercial and operational management of a major Facilities Management (Cleaning & Waste) contract for OCS Business & Industry.

You will lead by example to give an excellent service delivery through the OCS approach of building a fantastic relationship with the client, based on consistent and quality service delivery. The foundations of the client relationship will be trust, open communication and keeping our promises.


Relationship management

  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationship based on open and honest communication
  • Build effective supplier relationships to ensure they operate as part of the FM team and delivery high quality services
  • Develop the team (bringing the best out of people)
  • Point of contact for all other OCS manager's delivery work

Business development

  • Identify and develop appropriate opportunities to grow the business within the client organisation, either by extending the scope of the contract or introducing other OCS products where it adds value
  • Contribution to OCS business results and profit - remaining within budget and raising the profile of company in the FM industry
  • Effective H&S compliance
  • Committed, motivated and enthusiastic team player
  • Understanding implications of and ensuring all Service Level Agreements are met

Client and Customer Satisfaction

  • Service Quality and Delivery - did we deliver what we promised on time with minimal impact on business continuity
  • Evaluate information on service delivery and implement a process for identifying a baseline and measurement on an on-going basis
  • Development of or working to Service Level Agreements;
  • Value for Money - effective cost management - cost within or met agreed budgets
  • Pro-active and innovative approaches demonstrated

  • Good communication - responsive to the requirements and changes

Commercial responsibilities

  • Identify and manage any risks to OCS in a timely manner

Experience required:


  • Degree level (eg Dip FM)
  • Building Services/Technical qualification - desirable

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Substantial experience in a similar account management position, managing complex facilities and business support services
  • Specialist Soft Service knowledge and high degree of initiative, creativity and wide scope for discretion
  • Ability to influence and hold a position in a debate
  • Good team player and manager
  • Able to command credibility and able to influence
  • Experience of managing complex environments with good sound technical knowledge
  • Commercial and financial awareness in a client environment
  • Experience of interfacing at all levels throughout an organisation
  • PC Literate - understanding of how to use the technology as a tool
  • Communication and presentation skills of a high level
