This is a fantastic opportunity to further your facilities management career. We have a vacancy for an experienced Electrical (bias) & Mechanical Engineer to oversee, administer the delivery and implement Electrical/Mechanical Safe Systems at Work, examples being, HTMs and Commercial Systems across numerous sites within our Health and Education sector of the business Responsibilities will include: Effectively manage Risk, safe systems of work and Authorised Persons structure (AP), in accordance with the Technical Maintenance and Engineering policy and relevant standards Ensure statutory, mandatory, and contractual compliance for delivery of a Safe System of Work. Interview, assess and appoint authorised persons (AP) across the Health and Education sector in line with company policies, standards, and procedures. Undertake (AP) audits, assessments, and annual appraisals. Maintain the identity and importance of the Electrical Safety Rules to the wider Southern region. Electrical safety awareness training for Contract, Operations and Construction Managers. Assist Health & Education based Technical Services teams to deliver a safe, compliant, cost effective and responsive service for all our clients - these services include electrical bias, fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation Review and approve high risk work, safety programmes and supporting documentation. Provide guidance, support, and technical advice to the teams Adhere to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements. To ensure onsite Quality Assurance and Contract specify Safe system of work procedures To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all escalated Electrical and Mechanical related reactive, planned maintenance and project issues. Work with our supply chains in areas of quality management and review and comment upon Electrical and Mechanical sub-contractor certification, competency, and compliance. Work closely with the Learning and Development team and assist in the training and development of Engineering staff to ensure the correct level of competency
Qualifications & Experience required: Degree, HND or HNC in an Electrical engineering field or similar qualification AE training within past 3 years and holding a similar role C&G/NVQ Electrical Inspection and testing 18th Edition Electrical installation 2382 Current Electrical Authorised Engineer appointment Ideally you will be an established electrical bias engineer with Mechanical experience, having worked in a similar role Experience with carrying out Electrical/ Mechanical AP assessment and the appointment process Experienced auditing Engineers and assessing contract/site requirements The ability to construct and implement safe systems of works Water systems knowledge Experience issuing permits Previous experience working with Health Technical Memoranda (HTM) and other engineering guidelines SFG20 What will you get in return?
