The Category Manager will develop the OCS Supply Chain proposition through close engagement with Sector leaders, SLTs and other senior stakeholders, driving best commercial practice and implementing the Procurement Policy, including but not limited to VRD delivery, supplier performance and operational risk management. This job is homebased (ideally within easy reach of our Manchester offices) with some UK travel Responsibilities will include: Develop and implement the OCS Supply Chain Strategy led by our Procurement Policy Deliver strategic actions as per the OCS Procurement Strategic Action Plan Deliver the annual savings plan, plus any Sector specific Deep Dive plans, and ensure all inbound revenue is invoiced and collected on time – ensuring zero aged debt Proactive, strategic performance management of a supply chain, in particular Tier 1 and 2 suppliers using KPIs, CIP and CAPs Swift and effective management of escalated performance issues, dealing with the issue and feeding into CIP and CAPs Proactively identify and manage supply chain risk Operate as supply chain Business Partner to a specific sector or strategic objective, including supporting the business development process and driving sector specific savings and performance improvement plans Support with mobilisations of new client contracts, which can be at short notice and demobilisations Accurately report financial and operational performance, financial forecasting and annual budgeting, as per the requirements of the business Manage supply chain risk and opportunities, (financial, commercial, operational, legal and reputational) Contribute to the global centre of excellence for supply chain management with the creation of global VRD deals, knowledge sharing, and virtual Business Partnering with key territories Lead, inspire and support your team members and if appropriate, line management of individual(s)
Qualifications & Experience required: Degree or professional qualification, or relevant experience in a similar role Membership of CIPS would be desirable Procurement, Vendor/Supplier Management, or similar Commercial Role Experience delivering bottom-line impacting savings High levels of customer service on an “intellectual equal” basis Drafting and negotiating contracts, in conjunction with lawyers and suppliers Financial reporting in a blue-chip environment Influencing stakeholders and presenting to wide audiences High level of personal resilience and self-belief Excellent communication and influencing skills, including marketing of yourself, the team and business on social media channels Tenacious negotiator, ensuring nothing is left on the table Accuracy and precision in budgeting and reporting Problem solving and ownership of issues Strong team player, with an interest in providing active feedback to develop the team What will you get in return?
