The Regional Aviation & Soft Services Trainer is a varied training role within a highly motivated, professional team delivering mandatory and informative training to OCS staff, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to carry out work-related tasks.

You will work closely with the Head of Training and Standards and local Operations Mangers to deliver a wide range of training in Aviation and Soft Services. This includes training OCS operational staff in Health & Safety, PRM & customer care as well as the delivery of OCS inductions / refreshers, manual handling, fire safety awareness and ramp safety modules plus other subjects to meet the needs of the airport authorities and operational teams. 

Where required the trainer will complete observational application assessments on trainees to ensure the successful transfer of knowledge from the training environment to the live operation to meet regulatory compliance and deliver the highest standards of service to our clients.

You will need to work autonomously whilst being accountable for providing weekly reports to the Head of Training & Standards to reflect your training activity and maintain accurate and timely administration of all aspects of the required training documentation.

Responsibilities will include:

Deliver high quality training programmes of which primary focus is to meet mandatory training compliance within the required timescales.

Deliver engaging learning sessions to provide key information to learners against key learning outcomes and requirements of the syllabus.

Support delegates to pass both written and practical assessments.

Deliver induction to new starters

Work with operational managers to deliver required training modules in conjunction with operational schedules.

Support the Head of Training and Standards to continuously review training programmes and evaluate their effectiveness in line with the business needs.

Comply with all relevant policies and procedures and support the management team with improvements.

Support the implementation and delivery of future training initiatives.

Integrate OCS core values into all aspects of training.

Facilitate and document both written and practical / operational observational assessments.

Establish strong positive relations with the operations team, attend site meetings to update and discuss local training needs as required.

Identify employees with the appropriate skill set for potential progression and communicate this to operational managers.

Accurately complete and maintain all learner and staff training records in compliance with all required authority regulations. 

Effective file and document management of training records and course certificates to evidence successful completion of the required training.

Provide training statistics to the Head of Training and Standards as is necessary.

Regularly monitor and review training material to ensure it is current, relevant and appropriate to deliver.

Liaise with operation mangers to ensure trainees receive the appropriate level of continued support and guidance to maintain competence in their role.

Qualifications & Experience required:

Candidate must have successfully completed a Level 3 award in training or equivalent.

Previous training experience within Aviation / Airport environment would be an advantage

Competent in using Power Point/ Excel / SharePoint /Microsoft Teams systems 

Awareness of health and safety requirements.
