We have an opportunity for an experienced HR & Training Manager to join our Healthcare and Education sector. You will work in partnership with Operational stakeholders providing consistent “in person” support to management teams on people issues in pursuit of smooth employee relations, HR process and the sector’s strategic goals.

You will deliver the sector specific HR training initiatives as part of the strategic overall workforce plan working closely and in partnership with all support functions and wider HR and support function teams associated with this contract. 

Ideally you'll be based in Clapham, Bedfordshire (MK41) with regular travel required into Luton and Bedford 

Responsibilities will include:

To support the central Employee Relations team to deliver appropriate field-based support to the management teams on issues such as reorganisation and complex disciplinary, grievance or capability processes.

To act as a sector-specific point of escalation for MyER on Employee relations matters which require sector specific knowledge.

To support the HR Business Partner in the delivery of strategic HR initiatives and projects.

Support with monitoring and reporting on the social values KPI’s unique to the Account, working with the HR Business Partner on in initiatives to support the delivery of the KPI’s.

To support, design and deliver HR training in support of the HRBP, L&D and in line with the sector’s skills matrix  

To partner the Operational Management team and HR Business Partner to deliver appropriate strategic workforce planning.

To keep informed of contract performance and labour issues, and to offer the management teams proactive advice in relation to labour issues in pursuance of cost limitation, process improvement or smooth employee relations.

To attend management team meetings to represent HR operations ensuring feedback is reported and appropriate actions followed up.

To work with the HRBP on continuous improvement of HR compliance, HR process and the employee value proposition for all contracts.

Work collaboratively with the ER centre of Excellence, other support functions and HRBP’s to ensure the delivery of consistent, impartial, commercial advice across the Company.

Provide in person support to managers on complex HR cases including investigations, meetings and appeals once escalated from the central MYER team.

Provide TUPE, Redundancy (site closures) and Restructuring field support including Project management and ownership until concluded by liaising with all relevant Operational stakeholders, work colleagues and wider support functions.

Develop effective working relationships within the OCS business to promote positive, proactive and fair employee relations across the organisation.

Understand changes in legislation and provide support to implement appropriate changes within the business once provided from our Central MYER team

Monitor trends in employment practices and advise on appropriate proactive action ie Absence Management

 

Qualifications and Experience required:

•            CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience 
•            CIPD Membership
•            Qualified trainer of Mental Health First Aid would be desirable 
•            Experience of employee relations advisory support in a fast-paced working environment 
•            Proven track record of supporting a multi-site operation in outsourced services would be advantageous 
•            Previous experience of a field based regional role 
•            Previous industrial relations experience 
•            Experience of delivering HR solutions within a public sector environment with demonstrable experience of AfC Terms 
•            TUPE knowledge and application
•            Demonstrable experience of supporting redundancy, restructure and change activity would be desirable 
•            Competent level of IT skills (Excel/Power point/Word)
•            Proven expertise and understanding of employment law and knowledge across HR full spectrum of employee relations.
•            Experience in the provision of a strategic, proactive support within a multi-site and union environment
•            Training design and delivery experience.
•            Proven experience of delivering against KPIs in relation to retention, people culture, staff engagement and change management.
