We are looking to recruit a Post Room Assistant to work 35 hours per week Monday - Friday, from 8am - 3pm.  Based at the Head Quarters of one of our prestigious clients Stanley Black & Decker, who are based on Bath Road, Slough   

You will ensure that courier, post room and scanning services are carried out to meet agreed service levels of service and budget. You will effectively manage workload and evaluate and develop processes to ensure services are aligned to business needs.

You will also be required to cover main reception desk duties in the absence of Receptionist for daily lunch cover and holidays

About the role:

Your main aim will be to sort inbound mail and ensure it is prepared for scanning. You’ll run the automatic mailing machine, ensuring mailing integrity and quality is maintained and first level maintenance is provided as necessary. You will also provide daily coverage of reception desk & duties to cover breaks & annual leave which may include additional hours.

You will also:

  • Maintain accurate records for invoicing.
  • Ensure a professional service is delivered at all times.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are complied with and safe working practices are in place.
  • Assist with the management of courier items, including receiving, logging, delivery, and sorting.
  • Help keep the production room clean and tidy.
  • Manage the reception desk & follow daily reception duties/tasks in accordance with facilities Manager instructions.

About you

To succeed in this role you will need experience of delivering post room services and a desire to deliver excellent customer service. Additionally, you will need to have good communication/interpersonal skills as this is a high profile client site. 

You will also need:

  • Understanding of scanning technology and equipment
  • Experience processing legal documentation preferred
  • The ability to communicate at all levels with good relationship building skills
  • A hands-on approach if required
  • Good PC skills to include Word, Excel and knowledge of PDF files
  • Have a basic knowledge of reception duties & its responsibilities
  • Have previous SIA experience/certification however this is not essential as training can be provided to the right candidate.
