The Weekend Night Supervisor provide a high quality multi service, to patients, staff and visitors maintaining a safe environment, in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the specification. You will also provide direction, guidance and support to ensure the necessary duties are carried out to maintain an efficient porter, cleaning and catering service. 

Main Duties:

  • Keeping the Timegate system up to date, ensuring all shift and pay are reflected accurately and any anomalies/open shifts and data reports are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of all soft services within a designated area. Complying with agreed staffing levels, work schedules, and using appropriate methods of work, ensuring service level agreement and quality standards are met in line with Company & Trust policies.
  • Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is always maintained, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and Trust policy where appropriate.
  • Be responsive to service needs as they arise and to constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post.
  • Organise and allocate staff under your control to carry out the soft services within a designated area. Ensure that the work schedule and quality standards are adhered to in line with the specification.
  • Participate as required in regular team meetings, performance reviews, jobs chats, return to work discussions, and to cooperate with accident and other investigations.
  • Maintain personnel and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff development and training.


To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Experience working within a large portering department
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft programmes
  • Competent at devising rosters
  • Excellent personnel management skills
  • Strong motivational and team building skills
  • A resilient and robust nature is essential
  • An autonomous self-starter who will take ownership for a diverse team
