The Security Leading Hand will support the duty Security Shift Controller overseeing the management and delegation of all duties carried out or supported by the officers on shift. In addition to this, you will be responsible for managing a security gatehouse (manned 24/7) where site intruder, fire and environmental alarms, CCTV and emergency telephones are monitored.

Rostered shifts are 4 on, 4 off, 12 hr shifts days and nights including weekends and bank holidays.

Main Duties:

  • Monitor & action in accordance with all requests the company 123 emergency telephone line system
  • Collating and controlling operational response to all required tasks including emergencies i.e. Fire, First Aid, Ambulance calls, Personal Attack, Intruder, Major incident
  • Control retention and awareness of the client’s Major Incident, Contingency plans, Contamination & Extortion, and Legionella polices.
  • Management and testing of electronic door access control system to all of the client’s UK sites where it is installed.
  • Electronic data entry / report of incidents
  • Control of site radio communications system
  • Production and admin of induction attendance evidence cards and client’s pensioner cards
  • Remote isolation & restoration of fire and intruder alarms and calling engineers where required
  • Log pest control incidents
  • Escalate threat of contamination incidents
  • VIP security protection services
  • Control and administer licensed suite locks
  • Monitor and record lone worker operations

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Security Industry Association (SIA) frontline licence.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Good IT and communication skills.
  • Good supervisory and organisational skills and able to use own initiative.
  • Good spoken English and legible handwriting
