Overall purpose of the role:

To support the Operations Manager and provide annual leave cover for Operations Supervisors and Duty Managers ensuring the high level of supervision and management is maintained

To positively contribute to the performance of the business and build strong working relationships with all staff and Bristol Airport representatives across all shifts whilst ensuring effective supervision of all staff on shift, ensuring that work is carried out to customer specification and all deadlines

To undertake assigned projects periodically which may include Health and Safety and Change Processes

To communicate in a professional manner with customers, airport authorities, colleagues and to be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of staff and passengers

Specific Responsibilities

  • To undertake the main duties and responsibilities of both the Duty Manager and Operations Supervisor whilst covering their annual leave
  • Support the Operations Manager with initiatives and change programmes
  • Review areas of all operations seeking continuous improvement
  • Liaise with the Business Administrator to ensure adequate stocks are maintained of PPE, uniform and cleaning products
  • Conduct performance appraisals with appropriate employees, identifying potential talent and recommending training and development where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet or exceed KPI’s and SLA standards ensuring minimum delays and complaints in both the ASC and PRM operation
  • Ensure that communication with colleagues is of the highest standard and all updates and necessary information is shared.
  • Building & maintaining relationships with clients, airport authorities and other regulatory bodies.
  • Review AIRES, Avtech and Navman reports on a regular basis

Previous Experience / Qualifications Required

  • Must be able to obtain an airside pass
  • An appropriate management qualification in leadership or proven track record
  • A Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH/IOSH (Desirable)
  • Formal training qualification (desirable) •         
  • Previous management experience including coaching and developing staff
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Experience of leading and directing teams of people to perform against specific targets
  • Proficient computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel)
  • First-rate understanding of health and safety in the workplace
